Sensitive electronic security devices require power supplies made at the highest quality, with ultra-clean voltage and sturdy, reliable performance that will keep the power flowing even in draining circumstances. The BPS-12/24-1 linear power supply delivers on all front in a secure, lockable enclosure. The unit ships at 9 lbs or 4.08 kg, and is 9" long by 12" high by 4" deep. It is also covered by the MagnaCare lifetime replacement warranty, with a no fault policy so you can easily receive a replacement if the original unit is faulty.
This is a dual voltage power supply with 1 Amp of continuous current at a field selectable either 12 VDC or 24 VDC, and operates between 32 and 105 degrees Fahrenheit, or 0 and 40 degrees Celsius. The independent charging circuit will keep the sealed lead acid or gel batteries charged with 13.6 VDC even while the output is running at 12 VDC. This means that you'll always be able to simultaneously provide power to your electronic components without losing the battery charge. Even if there's a large flow of current coming in, there is a Polyswitch 2 Amp breaker that will handle a rush so that the unit will be able to keep up. You will never have to worry that your systems don't have enough power!
The BPS-12/24-1 has a great new AC failure monitoring feature that alerts the access control or alarm system of an AC power failure through a form "C" dry contact. So you’ll have plenty of time to fix the problem before the battery backup has been drained.
These units are perfect for devices that need to interface with fire alarm systems. They have a low current fire alarm disconnect that only needs a minimum sized fire alarm relay and wire gauge, and the disconnect is UL listed so you know it's a quality component.
There are external LED indicators for AC and DC that will instantly show you the status of the unit's power. AC power has a green LED on the control board that will light up with AC voltage is there on the red and orange transformer wires. DC power has a red LED that will light up when the unit is supplying DC voltage, or in the event that the batteries are powering the unit. Different combinations of these lights will indicate certain fault conditions, such as a lack of AC with the battery powering output, no DC output with a potentially tripped Polyswitch, or no AC with no battery and a possibly tripped Polyswitch.
There are two very serious hazards to note about this particular power supply. The line voltage has a high voltage shock hazard, and the battery output is a high energy hazard. These can cause harm to the operator, or cause enough heat to light materials on fire. It's important to note the LED lights on the control board in order to determine safety procedures.
The BPS-12/24-1 has several patents, approvals and listings to indicate the details and quality of materials:
