How do I connect devices to the Vista 20P?

To connect to Vista 20P's 8 hardwired zones, you must first figure out if your device is open or closed circuit.

For open circuit devices: Connect along the zone loop, in parallel. If the zone has an end-of-line-resistor, find the device at the end of the loop and connect the resistor across those wires.

For closed circuit devices: Connect on high side of zone loop, in series. If the zone has an end-of-the-line resistor, find the device at the end of the loop and connect the resistor in series.

The ECP terminals (4,5,6,7) on the control panel are used to connect addressable devices, like zone expanders, cellular communicators, internet communicators, keypads, and wireless receivers

Terminals 3 and 4 are used to connect alarm sirens. Wire device power is supplied by terminals 4 and 5. Once connected to the correct control panel terminal, these devices must be assigned device addresses before achieving proper functionality. For more on device addressing, click here.
