The device will work properly if the following mounting instructions are observed. The device should be mounted 7.5-8 feet off the floor. The detector can't be mounted using a mounting bracket or a look-down mirror. Mount the device in a location where animals can't come within six feet of the detector's lens. Be aware of what pieces of furniture your pet likes to climb on, and try to angle the sensor away from these locations.
